The Beacon Vented Chest Seal is designed for the emergency management of open chest wounds caused by penetrating trauma, combining effective wound coverage with a patented one-way venting system.
The venting system allows air to escape from the chest cavity during exhalation while preventing outside air from entering through the wound during inhalation. Its design supports continued venting even if part of the venting system becomes obstructed.
The large 6-inch (15.24 cm) round dressing provides generous coverage, while the medical-grade hydrogel adhesive is designed to adhere securely to skin exposed to blood, sweat, hair, sand, or water.
A transparent backing supports accurate placement, and the large release tab facilitates application and removal. The dressing is supplied in lightweight, vacuum-sealed, puncture-resistant packaging with four tear notches for convenient access in emergency situations.
Developed for field use, the Beacon Vented Chest Seal is suitable for trained EMS personnel, military medical teams, and other first responders managing penetrating chest injuries.
