The Shrapnel Wound in a Box® from the Wounds in a Box® series is a purpose-built training aid designed to enhance wound care education through hands-on experience. Compact and rugged, this task trainer is ideal for both classroom and field use, offering a cost-effective solution for teaching critical trauma management skills.
This model simulates a complex soft-tissue shrapnel injury, complete with an embedded fractured bone element to elevate the skill challenge. Constructed with patented SOFTTECH® and ROCKTECH® materials, it features high-quality silicone rubber skin and layered tissue coloration that deliver a remarkably lifelike appearance and tactile feedback. These materials are also UV resistant and engineered for durability across repeated training scenarios.
Integrated blood tubing allows for simulated bleeding, which can be activated by connecting the unit to a compatible system such as the SKEDCO® FEBSS. The setup enables a responsive training experience where the bleeding can be controlled by correct wound packing, reinforcing essential hemorrhage control skills.
Packaged in its own storage case for easy transport and protection, the Shrapnel Wound in a Box® provides a realistic and durable solution for improving competency in emergency wound management. Bleeding simulation systems are sold separately.
