The NAR Hypothermia Prevention and Management Kit (HPMK®) is specifically designed to prevent hypothermia during casualty care, as recommended by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC). This patented kit features a reinforced Heat Reflective Shell (HRS™) that is strong, flexible, lightweight, and impervious to wind and rain. Constructed from a 4-ply composite fabric, the HRS™ includes a protected non-conductive reflective layer for superior thermal insulation. The kit provides rapid 360° access to the casualty through 1.5-inch continuous hook and loop closures around the perimeter, minimizing exposure to the elements.
The HRS™ also includes a built-in hood, an integrated fluid absorption pad, and a tapered shape to enhance isothermal capabilities. The heat-generating source of the HPMK® is an oxygen-activated, self-heating shell liner that delivers 10 hours of continuous dry heat without the need for an external power supply. Vacuum-packaged in a durable, low-cube pouch with NAR’s Red Tip Technology® for easy access and rapid deployment, the HPMK® is reinforced to support over 250 pounds.
